For over a decade, one woman has quietly transformed lives across Cape Town’s most vulnerable communities. Noluthando Heidi Ngumbela’s unwavering commitment to service since 2013 has become a beacon of hope for thousands who might otherwise be overlooked.
A Vision Born from Compassion
In 2022, Noluthando took her passion to a new level, founding the Zenazi Ndinani Organisation with a simple but powerful mission: to restore dignity and opportunity to those who need it most. What began as a personal calling has blossomed into a network of care that reaches from Dunoon to Langa and beyond.
The Work Behind the Mission
The reach of Zenazi Ndinani is both broad and deeply personal. The organisation provides school uniforms to less fortunate learners, ensuring no child sits in class defined by poverty. During winter and Christmas—the times when need cuts deepest—Noluthando orchestrates drives that bring warmth and cheer to communities living in precarious circumstances.
Her compassion extends to the most vulnerable. At the Red Cross Children’s Hospital accommodation unit, she visits babies and their mothers, offering not just material support but human connection. She moves through Dunoon, Langa, and the Maitland cemetery gate with dignity packages, sanitary products, and warm offerings—soup and coffee that speak volumes beyond their practical value.
Walking the Distance
This year, the organisation expanded its commitment in a remarkable way, adopting eight learners spanning Grade R through Grade 7. But this isn’t a transactional gesture. Noluthando has committed to walk alongside these young people throughout their entire journey—providing uniforms, stationery, extra classes, and regular home visits all the way through to matric and beyond. She’s not just offering a helping hand; she’s offering a future.
